Detroit Pride, 2021

This is a spontaneous community project when I volunteered for a mental health booth at Detroit City Pride in 2021. My previous employer needed someone to attend so I volunteered. When I arrived all the other booths had beautifully curated displays. My company at the time left me with nothing but a wooden table and my “Charmisma, Uniqueness, Nerve and Talent” Luckily I had some art therapy tools with me and I proceeded to have all the attendees write messages of support to either leave for someone else or take with them as a reminder of support within our community. What started as a blank wooden table ended as a beautiful rainbow of wisdom. We were able to connect people with resources about mental health services in the community and a place to connect.
